Planets are also the holders of land, and land, along with other resources, are required to build factories on to produce many of the resources needed throughout the game.

For every building required there will be a plot of land that is needed for it to be built on. If you plan on being a primary producer in the Dark Galaxies then you will certainly be needing some land to build on.
